X-Men vs. Spider-Man

Welcome to the debut of my monthly "Movie Match-Up" series where I put two movies head to head to see which one would come out on top. For this first time feature I have chosen the two big comic book blockbusters in a battle for Marvel supremacy. Will the time travelling mutants prevail or will the rebooted web slinger come out on top?

Seattle International Film Festival - The Opening Night Experience

To begin my second year covering the Seattle International Film Festival, I chose to take in all the glitz and glamour of the Opening Night Gala as a ticket holder rather than as a member of the press. What an amazing evening it turned out to be with some big announcements, a locally flavored movie premiere, and an after party that capped off a celebration worthy of the festival's 40th year of operation.

2013 Recap - Movies and Performances

Out of the movies I watched during the 2013 calendar year, these are the ones that affected me more than any other whether it be comedy, action, drama, fantasy, or any other genre. If you have been following my blog for any length of time, you should have a pretty clear understanding of how I judge movies which may not be typical when compared to other writers that take on this similar task of creating reviews.

Chris Evans returns in the title role and we also see newcomers Anthony Mackie and Robert Redford in addition to familiar faces like Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan and Cobie Smulders.

Noam Murro takes over directing duties while Lena Heady, Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, and Callan Mulvey round out the extremely athletic cast.
