The movie features the voice talents of Noah Schnapp, Kristin Chenowith, Rebecca Bloom, Noah Johnston, Hadley Bell Miller, Venus Schultheis, and Mariel Sheets.

Creed - Movie Review

Creed, directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station), continues the story of fictional boxing champion Rocky Balboa made famous by Sylvester Stallone. The movie stars Michael B. Anthony in the title role as well as Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Tony Bellew, Ritchie Coster, Graham McTavish, Malik Bazille, and Wood Harris.

Trailer Debut - Captain America: Civil War

The first official teaser trailer for Captain America: Civil War has been released and it looks just as bad ass as Winter Soldier was, if not more! This is sure to be one of the biggest movies of the year. Hit up the comments and let me know what you think.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 - Move Review

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, directed by Francis Lawrence, is the final installment in the Hunger Games saga which is based off the best selling novels written by Suzanne Collins. The movie features a star filled cast which includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, Sam Claflin, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Natalie Dormer, and Gwendoline Christie.

Wow, what a weekend of amazing films! The 2015 Seattle Shorts Film Festival is definitely becoming one of the can't miss festivals of the Pacific Northwest and I had a great time watching as many of the films as I could that were available over the two days of sold out programming.

During the 2015 Seattle Shorts Film Festival, I was able to sit down with actress Shannon Maree Walsh who was participating as a member of the festival's jury panel. We discuss her transition from championship gymnast to a budding career in film making as well as working with people like Wes Craven, Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley, and Susan Sarandon.

Trailer Debut - Marvel's Jessica Jones Full Trailer

You've seen the teaser trailers I posted a few weeks ago (click here if you haven't) and hopefully you are just as excited as I am about this series coming out. Jessica Jones looks like it will fit in perfectly with the darker and edgier "street level super hero" style that worked so well for Daredevil and will look to add more pieces to the puzzle that will eventually all fit together as The Defenders.

The entire series run of Marvel's Jessica Jones, which stars Krysten Ritter, David Tennant, Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, and Carrie-Anne Moss will be released November 20th exclusively on Netflix.

Oh, and just for fun, here's a first look at Daredevil Season 2!

2015 GeekGirlCon Saturday Recap

Once again, the fine folks and organizers of the GeekGirlCon event have put on another amazing show. While it is much smaller in scale than Emerald City Comicon or PAX, it still gives you the same feelings of fellowship and fun without all the crazy long lines and crowded hallways. I have now had the pleasure of covering the event for three years and it just keeps getting better and better.

2015 Tacoma Film Festival Recap

Once again the Tacoma Film Festival has come and gone leaving a blazing trail of great movies, documentaries, and short films in its wake. Hopefully you had a chance to attend this year's festivities as the organizers put on quite a show and the whole thing was bigger and better than ever before. No joke, I really had a great time at this festival and was able to catch some truly great films.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Trailer Debut

Here it is, the final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens which opens in theaters on Friday December 18th. Tickets are on sale now! Excuse me while I go watch this a couple million times.

Crimson Peak - Movie Review

Crimson Peak is a fantasy drama written and directed by Guillermo del Toro who's previous work includes Pan's Labyrinth, Blade 2, and Pacific Rim. The movie features acting performances by Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam, Jim Beaver, Burn Gorman, Leslie Hope, and Doug Jones.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Poster Debut

Not many movies warrant the type of attention that a Star Wars film attracts as every bit of information released to the public gets scrutinized to no end so when even something like a new poster is released, it's considered big news. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now exactly two months away and this final poster, being released just a day or two before tickets go on sale, fits right in with all the classic Star Wars posters we all know and love.

Wildlike (TFF 2015) - Movie Review

Wildlike, written and directed by Frank Hall Green, is an official selection of the 2015 Tacoma Film Festival. The movie stars Bruce Greenwood, Ella Purnell, Brian Geraghty, Nolan Gerard Funk, Diane Farr, Ann Dowd, Joshua Leonard, and Joe Boxer the Bear as Grizzly Bear.

Landfill Harmonic (TFF 2015) - Documentary Review

Landfill Harmonic, an official selection of the Tacoma Film Festival, was created by directors Brad Allgood and Graham Townsley. This documentary feature tells the story of the "Recycled Orchastra", a group of kids from a small town in Paraguay who learn to play music using instruments literally built from landfill scraps.

Tumbledown (TFF 2015) - Movie Review

Tumbledown, co-written and directed by Sean Mewshaw, is an official selection of the Tacoma Film Festival. The film, which is a light hearted romantic comedy, stars Jason Sudeikis, Rebecca Hall, Dianna Agron, Blythe Danner, Griffin Dunne, Joe Manganiello, and Richard Masur.

They Look Like People (TFF 2015) - Movie Review

They Look Like People, a mystery thriller written and directed by Perry Blackshear, is an official selection of the 2015 Tacoma Film Festival. The film stars MacLeod Andrews, Evan Dumouchel, Margaret Ying Drake, Mick Casale, and Elena Greenlee.

A Brilliant Young Mind - Movie Review

Yakuza Apocalypse - Movie Review

Yakuza Apocalypse is an action comedy from acclaimed Japanese director Takashi Miike who's previous work includes classic films like 13 Assassins, Audition, and Ichi the Killer. The movie features performances by Hayato Ichihara, Yayan Ruhian, Rirî Furankî, Riko Narumi, Pierre Taki, Mio Yûki, and Kiyohiko Shibukawa. For my Seattle area readers, you can watch this movie at the Sundance Cinemas beginning Friday, October 9th and, for those following along at home, it will also be available On Demand that same day.
