2017 Recap - The Movies

Another year in the books and another top 10 list has been completed. It's always interesting to look back over an entire year of films and trying to create some sort of order to the chaos. Throw in the fact that I reviewed more movies this year than any of the previous six years(140!) and making decisions on which ones would make the list was tougher than ever. I hope you have a chance to see all of the movies I have mentioned in this recap, they are each special to me in their own way.

2017 Recap - The Performances

In 2017, I watched more movies than I ever have in a single year which means there are tons of actors and actresses I could choose from to make this list. The most important things to me in my decision making process was how memorable and how affecting the performances were. You may not have heard of some of the people or the movies they are in because they are from film festivals or limited releases so I am hoping u have a chance to see them at some point.

As we gear up for what lies ahead in 2018, let's take a look back at all of those awesome memories including a list of my favorite movies from all of last year's film festivals.

2017 Recap - The Animated Films

So, I only watched five animated films this year which seems kind of weird but the good news is that they were all really, really good. Two of the releases were from Disney's Pixar studios, two were imported from Japan, and the other was a sequel of sorts from the Lego universe. Let's take a look and see how I have them ranked.

2017 Recap - The Horror Films

2017 was a solid year for the horror genre with several really good entries and a few not so good. Below, you will find a list of all the horror movies I saw this year broken into three categories along with the recipient of my favorite horror film of the year.
