The Review:
I wasn't sure what to expect from this film although with Guy Ritchie involved I was looking for a slick and stylish action movie with lots of attitude and witty dialog. Throw in Jason Statham and I was sure we would also get to see some high flying action and serious ass kicking from one of today's biggest action stars. Well, we don't always get what we want but even then the results can still be entertaining and the movie ended up being entertaining in a more unexpected way.

While the movie is about high stakes armored car robberies, it manages to be more methodical than most movies like this and it kind of has a noir feel to it as well but in a Guy Ritchie style if that makes sense. The story itself is a sort of tragedy and even more so as the movie reveals more and more details as to what is happening and the why which involved a lot of backtracking to stuff that happened beforehand. Bouncing back and forth like that can sometimes be confusing although Ritchie keeps it pretty straightforward and easy to follow.

Jason Statham does a decent enough job with his character and he really stays in that well known lane of badass, highly skilled action person which has been his hallmark for years. The performance is a little more subdued that some of his other work but it definitely fits the story so no worries there. The rest of the cast is pretty basic and doesn't do anything to help Statham out really, they're all just sort of there. Overall this is a decent movie that does what it sets out do. Nothing more, nothing less.
