The Review:
I'll be honest with you, I don't know if I've ever watched any of the Halloween movies in their entirety and most likely just the first one at a way too young age if at all. That being said, everyone and their mom knows the basic idea of the story and how iconic both the character Michael Myers and the actress Jamie Lee Curtis have become thanks to this series. Bringing things back to the original movie's story was  smart move as it allows both the film makers and the audience to not have to worry about tons of story continuity and all the excess baggage that kind of stuff brings along.

Director David Gordon Green keeps things pretty straight forward for a slasher horror movie and the slashing does get underway without too much of a set up. Jamie Lee Curtis, in her return as Laurie Strode is more bad ass than she's ever been and definitely makes her mark playing a woman who has been obsessed with killing a man who has been obsessed with killing her for a few decades. The lead up to the eventual clash between the two is littered with bodies with blood, teeth, and general mayhem scattered around the town as it celebrates an otherwise normal Halloween night.

I would definitely recommend the movie for both casual and genre fans as there is enough for everyone to enjoy just don't expect to be blown away by big special effects or blockbuster style story telling. The story is entertaining, the kills are well done and creatively carried out, and everything is just good without really standing out in any way.
