Lawless (2012) - Movie Review

I will be the first to tell you that I am not a fan of Shia LaBeouf. To be honest, I'm not even sure how to pronounce his name. When I saw that he was going to play the starring role in a movie that features Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, and Tom Hardy my first thought was that I might get to see Bane kick the crap out of Sam Witwicky for two hours. No such luck.

The Dark Knight Rises - Movie Review

From the first few moments of "Batman Begins", it was very clear that writer/director Christopher Nolan was setting up his vision of the caped crusader to become a spectacular odyssey that would completely change how the world looks at super heroes. "The Dark Knight" expanded on that overall theme while showing how evil and chaos could bring ruin to what was thought to be a city's greatest hope. To complete the trilogy properly, Nolan would need to bring the hero back from the depths while showing him what it means to truly become a legend.

This Means War - Movie Review

'This Means War' is a movie starring Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, and Tom Hardy which in itself should be enough to get anyone in to a movie theater. All three are great at what they do and this type of movie seems like a perfect fit for what each of them brings to the table.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is a very popular British spy novel from the early 70's and was adapted in to a very popular television mini series. The lead character of George Smiley was played by the one and only Sir Alec Guiness and is considered the defining portrayal of the character. Now we have a Hollywood theatrical version of the story featuring Gary Oldman in the lead role.
