The Review:
You ever feel like your life is just going through the motions with no real motivation other than collecting a paycheck and hoping to just continue on in some mundane  and mindless fashion? That's this movie and that's what this franchise has become. Tired, bored, and devoid of any real life. Yes, the story continues, as a matter of fact it picks up right where the previous film left off as Michael Myers miraculously escapes his fiery tomb and continues to casually walk around town killing people in ways that would other wise be completely avoidable if the person, and in some cases, people just turned the other way and minded their business.

I think a fair amount of fans will defend this installment of the iconic horror franchise and a lot of folks may enjoy it for its simplicity and lack of any sort of imagination or complex storytelling. I mean, this is a franchise that has lived for decades on an unstoppable masked man wandering around killing people for some unknown purpose or something or other and that is completely fine. It is what it is and sometimes that's enough.

For me, the paint by numbers story barely managed to hold my attention and maybe the only reason I stuck around was so that I could type out this review in good faith having made it all the way through to the end of the credits. I'm still not exactly sure what happened in this movie other than Michael Myers killing people with the same sort of mental disconnect that I had watching him and again, given what this entire franchise has provided over the years, that's probably going to be enough. I just feel like this was the epitome of a wasted opportunity given what the 2018 reboot/sequel did to revive the franchise.

The Verdict:
Halloween Kills a bunch of people in a meaningless entry to the franchise that some fans will probably still enjoy because they can and that's okay. I was skeptical going in and came out having barely remembered what just happened. Hopefully you enjoy it more than I did.
