Small Town Killers (Dræberne fra Nibe) (SIFF 2017) - Movie Review

The Movie: Small Town Killers (Dræberne fra Nibe)

The Director: Ole Bornedal

The Cast:  Nicolas Bro, Ulrich Thomsen, Mia Lyhne, Lene Maria Christensen, Marcin Dorocinski, Gwen Taylor. Soren Malling

The Story: Two men decide to end their marriages, but when their wives decide to take them for all their money, they decide to hire a hit man to take them out once and for all.

The Review:
Ole Bornedal, a highly respected writer and director from Denmark, has created a twisted comedy that spirals down a very dark path leaving a trail of bodies, confusion, alcohol, and mayhem in its path. For the most part, this is a fun movie although it struggled to hold my attention at times, even with a relatively short run time of 90 minutes. This film most reminds of former festival favorites like Cheap Thrills, Kong Curling, and Klown and ends up being a pretty entertaining film in its own right.

Small Town Killers is an official selection of the 2017 Seattle International Film Festival.
