It Comes at Night - Movie Review

The Movie: It Comes at Night

The Director: Trey Edward Shultz

The Cast: Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo, Riley Keough, Kelvin Harrison Jr.

The Story: Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, a man has established a tenuous domestic order with his wife and son, but this will soon be put to test when a desperate young family arrives seeking refuge.

The Review:
For me, this movie was a major disappointment mostly due to a trailer that makes it seem like the movie is something entirely different than what it actually is. The story is slow, uninteresting, and the only thing that happens at night is a guy breaking into a house which, instead of being the main threat as implied in the title, just sets up everything else that happens. There is little to no tension, just a lot of talking, arguing, and pointing of guns.
