The Review:
This movie is a fantastic bit of film making that educates just as much as it entertains. After winning both the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and the Best New Director award at the 2016 Seattle International Film Festival, director Elite Zexer has become a force to be reckoned with in a very short time.

During the festival here in Seattle, I was able to sit down with Zexer to talk about Sand Storm, which was her debut film, and she was more than willing to discuss all aspects of the film making process. Rather than go into a lengthy review, I am going to ask that you read the full interview and then come back. If you are a fan of cinema or an aspiring film maker, you will definitely want to check out how she describes what it took to get this movie made.

The Verdict:
Sand Storm is an enlightening bit of dramatic story telling that is as tragic as it is inspiring. Seriously, after watching this movie, you will be looking for ways that you can go out to make the world a better place and one that is safer for and more respectful of women around the world.
