Boundaries - SIFF 2018 Capsule Review

The Movie: Boundaries

The Director: Shana Feste

The Cast: Vera Farmiga, Christopher Plummer, Lewis MacDougall, Bobby Cannavale, Kristen Schaal, Christopher Lloyd, Peter Fonda

The Story: Laura and her son Henry are forced to drive her estranged, pot-dealing, carefree father Jack across country after being kicked out of a nursing home.

The Review:
Writer and director Shana Feste makes a light hearted attempt at tackling some tough mental and emotional issues but never really digs deep enough to pull out anything that will have a lasting impact. Still, the dysfunctional, drug trafficking, family road trip stuff is fun and there are plenty of laughs with good performances all the way around. Oh, and Vera Farmiga is in the movie and she is amazing as always.
