Danny Boyle has sat in the director's chair for some very memorable films including Trainspotting127 Hours, and A Life Less Ordinary. With Trance, he pulls together an extremely talented cast headlined by James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent Cassel for a wildly unpredictable trip through a high stakes criminal act and a whodunit noir experience that will keep you guessing all the way to the end.

Evil Dead (2013) - Movie Review

This new version of Sam Raimi's classic "Evil Dead" horror movie has been touted as the "scariest movie ever made" and even the poster says its the "most terrifying film" so it better be able to match the hype and live up to such lofty expectations. Director Fede Alvarez not only takes on the challenge of filling Raimi's chair, but is also credited with writing the remake as well.

Pitch Perfect - Movie Review

Pitch Perfect is a movie that explores the world of collegiate a cappella singing competitions (yeah, seriously) in a fun and stylish way and provides rising star Anna Kendrick with a role that just might be the big break we've all been expecting from her.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation - Movie Review

After a less than successful debut, the Real American Heroes return to the big screen reloading with a bigger cast, more explosive special effects, and a story that sees the evil forces of Cobra looking to take over the world yet again. With the addition of The Rock, Bruce Willis, and Adrianne Palicki to the cast, director Jon M. Chu attempts to revitalize a potentially heroic action franchise with G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Two Oh Six: Best of 2012 - Movies and Actors

For me, 2012 was the first full year of writing movie reviews and it was also a year where I was able to watch more movies than I ever have before. From midnight premiers at the Cinerama to film festival screenings in theaters all over Seattle, I took in as many as I possibly could and wrote a review for almost every single one.

Of course, there are always movies that stand out as exceptional experiences and acting performances that shine through as remarkable achievements and this is where you will find my list of the ones that stood out above all the others throughout the past year.

Emerald City Comicon 2013 - Day Three

Sunday was the third and unfortunately final day of the Emerald City Comicon, but it would hold the distinction of bringing me face to face with one of the true icons of both the super hero and science fiction worlds.
