The Review:
So, at first glance, I was a little skeptical and unsure about whether or not the film makers could put together a decent sci-fi action movie on an indie scale budget, I was still pretty excited to give it a chance. Throw in an appearance from the one and only Vivica A Fox and I fully on board. The story's DNA is filled with ideas pulled from movies like Aliens, Predator, The Fifth Element, and Armageddon and has heavy doses of testosterone filled manliness which I guess is a good way to put it. The special effects mostly practical which emphasizes the 1980's look and feel of the movie and the film makers do a great job of hinting at a much larger world that they could eventually explore.

The classic mercenaries for hire angle is used here to great effect and the group, led by Stink Fisher who's character is appropriately called Boss, is filled with more than enough character and personality to go around. Daniel Baldwin also makes an appearance as the Secretary of Defense in a futuristic world where spaceships and aliens are normal things that government officials get to deal with. While the movie is filled with questionable dialog and cheesy one liners, some intentional and some not, the film makers and cast members do a great job of not letting any of the story go too far over the top.

Fans of science fiction will definitely appreciate the 80's throwback vibe as well as the effort put in by everyone involved. The the story is left with an ending that promises more to come and, if it happens, I am here for it. Oh, and give me all the Vivica A. Fox as President of the United States!
