The Other Woman - MiniView

In an effort to get more reviews posted in a timely manner, I have created the "MiniView" which is a less comprehensive yet still informative version of my normal movie reviews.

The Other Woman brings together Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton in a comedic run through what could happen when three women discover how one man is attempting to play them all. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Don Johnson, and Nicki Minaj also star in a movie directed by Nick Cassavetes who's previous work includes John Q and The Notebook.

I'll be honest with you, Leslie Mann is very annoying in this movie. I basically felt like I was watching an hour and a half of those deleted scenes you find in a movie's bonus features because they weren't good enough to make the final cut. Diaz was okay, but I felt like she was just there to collect a paycheck and Kate Upton was...well, she didn't really do much, but strangely I didn't really mind. Basically, what I mean is that she didn't do anything to further derail what was already a virtual train wreck of a movie.

The story was superficial and predictable, the comedy was a non stop rehashing of stuff you've seen in other movies, and the acting was pretty horrible even considering the type of movie this is. I know Leslie Mann has been gaining momentum over the last couple years and I like some of her stuff, but this performance could and should knock her back down a few pegs. Overall, there was really nothing to like about this movie...except Kate Upton in a bathing suit. Of course.
