PAQ: An introduction to my blog.

Congratulations! You have found the first ever post on my blog which could end up being quite historic when its all said and done so feel free to bask in the glory for as long as you can. I'm sure you have some initial questions so I have decided to answer them right away!

We will call this the PAQ (Potentially Asked Questions).

"Why do you have a blog?"
This blog was created to be an outlet for me to share and discuss my interest in topics that are important to me. There have been various attempts made over the years using different media and I suppose it all started back at Skyline elementary school with "show and tell" where my various baseball cards, comic books, and GI Joe action figures (they're not dolls!) would be on display for my classmates to marvel over.

"What will I see on your blog?"
The primary focus of my blog will be to post my movie reviews, sharing the latest movie news, and to let you know about movie event nights that I will be hosting. I will also throw in links to articles from around the web and the occasional Youtube video.

Honestly, you never know what I might throw your way and there's always a chance it may involve bacon so stay tuned!

"You're all over the social media. What's the difference between your blog and your Facebook and Twitter pages?"
The blog itself will primarily feature movie reviews and other types of content-driven blog posts. The Facebook and Twitter pages will have a link to each blog post as they are published and will also feature pictures, links, videos and any other type of related items one might share on a social media format.

"Will you be posting your own movie reviews?"
Yes! This will be the biggest feature of my blog.

"You also like to eat, will you post your restaurant reviews?"
For the most part no, but I do have a Yelp app embedded on the right hand side of my blog so you can see my most recent reviews and one click will take you right to their individual pages. That being said, some reviews may still get posted to my blog if I really feel the need to share and you will definitely see my Yelp event pages posted here as well.

"Will there be pictures posted of you as a kid on your blog?"

"Will there be pictures of Flash on your blog as well?"

"That's it? I have more questions, how do I get answers?!"
Fortunately, you will have the opportunity to comment on this post so feel free to ask any question you would like to ask and I will promptly eventually provide an answer of some sort. A select few questions may even be added to the official PAQ post...or maybe not.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy my blog.

  2. Any Chance you can set up a Twitter feed? Most of the Seattle film critics usually converse there. https://twitter.com/#!/mifff/pugetsoundfilmreviewers/members

  3. Thanks for the comment Isaac! I've never been much of a fan of Twitter, but I will most likely have one up for my blog in the near future. Stay tuned and thanks for the heads up!

  4. Not a problem Marc. What you can do is synch your Facebook or RSS feed with your Twitter feed so when you post to one, it automatically posts through the other. I do that for a couple of the Twitter feeds I operate, including the festival one. Makes things much easier. I use hootsuite.com specifically for it.

Did you get a chance to see the list of all the area film critics on twitter? Looking forward to adding yours. When you get all set up, just follow @mifff and I'll set you up with things.

Quick followup question. Do you know any other local film critics that aren't on that list? Trying to find as many as possible.
